みなさん、こんにちわ

まいにちにわたしははちじにおきます。げつようびからもくようびまでのくじからじゅうじはんにべんきょします。いちじゅうじにだいがくへいきます。ごじはんにかえります。しちじはんじゅくだいをしまう。はちじからじゅじまでにラグビーをします。にじゅうっぷんにねます。
きんょうびのじゅうじにともだちをあいます。ごじにばんごはんをたべます。
どようびにラグビーをします。
にちようびにやすみます。

Why I chose Japanese

I chose to study Japanese due to believing that I had some past experience with the language. I spent 6 months in Yokosuka while I was in the Marine Corps, and enjoyed the exposure to a new culture. I found the city and its people to be fascinating, and chose to study the language in the hopes of being able to return to Japan and explore the culture more deeply.

The absolute most challenging part of this class so far has been learning the various alphabets. I underestimated the complexity of the language, and without a solid grasp of hiragana my understanding of the rest of the language has been coming slowly.
